The journey so far..... has been interesting!
There have been many people, places, circumstances, relationships, guidance, and help that have defined it. Through all this there has always been a movement forward, to reach where I am, today.
I have faith, there will be many more miles to go on; and somehow I know that this juncture is important.
It is important enough for me to take a long pause and feel happy for ‘who’ I have become.
After more than a decade of being a print journalist with various organizations in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune, I made my foray into film scripting in 2007 with London-based The Script Factory. Arming myself with a basic and an advanced workshop on ‘Producing and Script Development’ I worked informally with friends from the TV and Film industry in Mumbai, India. It was in the beginning of 2013 that I finally took the plunge into film-making after successfully passing out of IMI (Institute of Moving Images – Mumbai, India) and I started experimenting with short fiction films.
In the initial year I directed, produced and even edited two of the first five short films of my life. My very first documentary on the renowned Indian painter Subhash Awchat was screened at Smita Patil Film Festival 2013 and at NIFF 2014 (Nashik International Film Festival) and was greatly appreciated. I am currently working on my next documentary with a social cause and my first Marathi feature film.
I play many roles and I enjoy each one of them. I operate from many planes and I know, you and me can connect on at least one of them. It will be a pleasure for me to rewind my life in bits and parts for you, so let’s journey together as I say, “Welcome to my world.”
